How Much Rubbish Are We Making at School?

As part of our learning around the theme of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" we thought it would be a good idea to see actually how much rubbish we are creating with our food wrappings at morning tea times. The first photo shows our first day's collection and we were disappointed as to how much we gathered. We set a goal to lessen the amount of rubbish we create each day. We brainstormed ways of packaging our food to not create waste and came up with ideas about using reusable containers and bags. We now have 3 bins in our room, 1 for recycling, 1 for food scraps and 1 for rubbish. We need to problem solve what we will do with the food scraps now. As you will see from the photos we have lessened the amount of rubbish by a lot. Our challenge now is to keep it this way and even lessen it further. How Much Rubbish Are We Making? on PhotoPeach
