In this type of art you create different interpretations of an image using different colour combinations and combining light and dark and complimentary colours. Andy Warhol believed that the rules of art are made to be broken so anything is possible, just have a go.
Firstly, we took a photo of every student and printed out two copies of it.
Secondly, using tracing paper and a 6B pencil we traced around the outlines of our images.
Next we turned the image over, placed it on the art paper and using a 6B pencil drew a zig zag pattern over all the lines we had traced.
When we lifted the tracing paper off we had the outline of our image. We drew over our pencil lines with black vivid and drew borders around our pictures. We then decided on our colour combinations and coloured our images in using felt pens. We finished our art of with another border line and signed it in Andy Warhol style.

ReplyDeleteWe hope you do try this form of art. We found it a very engaging, yet challenging but also a satisfying way to create our self portraits. We had to work really carefully to get good lines on our pictures and to achieve good colour combinations. We think we have done really well.
