Literacy Week - Lost in Space.
Below are some of the Room 10 and 11 Students in their dress up costumes. Students got very involved in the class activities like Stop, Drop and Write and Drop Everything and Read along with helping to complete one of the Progressive stories that went around our Kauri Team. Many involved themselves in schoolwide activities like the Golden Ticket Hunt, Guess The Teacher, Scavenger Hunt and Create a Bookmark activity. We were entertained by Christchurch author Soraya Nicholas who explained that all good authors spend many hours writing and rewriting their works to make them interesting for the reader….and the key ingredient to a compelling novel is good conflict built around interesting characters.
