NZ Flag Referendum

Tomorrow, Wednesday 16 March, is the day the Yr 4-8 students at Oaklands School get to vote in the "Kids NZ Flag Referendum".   We are setting the Hall up as a Polling Booth, having an electoral officer to mark the students off on the class roll as they go to record their vote and then place their voting paper in the ballot box. The following day each class has a nominated representative who will join the others to do the official voting count.
Our results will be announced before the end of the week and our votes will go towards the NZ Kids Referendum national total.
A good comparison will be between the NZ Kids vote and the NZ adults vote at the end of the Referendum.

We have already discussed the fact that perhaps young Kiwis should have a say as they are the future adults of NZ and will live with the chosen flag longer than the adult generation.
