100 Word Challenge

This term we are participating in a global writing challenge called the 100 Word Challenge.
Each week we receive a new writing prompt, students record their thoughts, ideas and feelings about this prompt in 100 words.  We then choose the best samples to be entered into the weekly 100 Word Challenge.  Each week's selection will appear on the class blog and will also be available for reading and comments by the other 100 word challenge participants from around the world.
What a great way to share our writing and also get feedback from a wide audience.

We have identified the following success criteria for this challenge:

  • imagine a setting and a situation where this prompt may happen
  • go for impact !!
  • include.......
    • some short sentences
    • repetition/repeating phrases
    • sound words (onomatopoeia)
    • an unanswered question
    • descriptive vocabulary eg adjectives, adverbs, similes, metaphors etc.

We hope you enjoy reading our writing over the next few weeks.
